When I came to State in 1961, it was common for full professors to teach freshmen, and so it was that I had Dr. Knotts for English Comp. I wasn't used to instructors teaching from a cross-legged position on a desk, but his strictures on my essays were all too familiar. I was a languages major, so never met him again, despite crewing for Arena for several seasons. Reading the remarks in his obituary, I certainly regret missing the opportunity to be better acquainted with an extraordinary person. Linda Delfs Class of '65
